WHO WE ARE
ISSA Furniture is a New Zealand company owned by Ryan and Rebecca McAuley. We specialise in designing, manufacturing and supplying quality commercial furniture with an extensive range of seating, tables and occasional furniture.
WHERE WE STARTED
In 1997 Ryan and his brother started a small steel fabrication company. They saw the opportunity in making steel furniture and soon had a strong client base in the commercial furniture market.
After a few years they became aware of the growing imported furniture market with prices hard to match. That was when they decided to start importing themselves products that could not be manufactured in New Zealand.
ISSA was then set up as a separate company and it was also the time when Rebecca finally joined the family firm.
Rebecca came from an interiors background with a passion for furniture, so ISSA was a perfect fit.
WHY ISSA – Pronounced “ee-saa”
We often get asked “What does the name ‘ISSA’ mean?” The answer is we made it up. We asked a clever advertising friend to come up with a name and logo and ISSA is it.
ISSA has weathered many storms over the years; Global Financial Crisis, a fire that destroyed our showroom/office, major loss of all data and the latest being COVID19. Each making us stronger, leaner and even more determined.

ISSA Furniture is committed to customer service. The ISSA team is particularly focused on understanding and meeting our customer’s requirements, then following up with efficient after sales service.
We operate according to the principles of Lean Manufacturing. Our goal is to add value to our customers while reducing all waste. We have begun the journey and along the way we will make every endeavour to demonstrate continuous improvement in both our service and the quality of our products.
ISSA Furniture is committed to achieving excellence in all our environmental systems and practices. Within ISSA as a company, we continuously strive to improve our energy efficiency and waste reduction. We have professionally trained Green Star Accredited staff on our team. ISSA actively recycles all scrap steel, foam, polypropylene seats, packaging and office waste. All of our products can be returned to us for recycling.
We have the stability, experience and flexibility to meet exacting deadlines. This sets us apart from the rest.
FITEC Furniture Master Seal has been awarded to ISSA Furniture. This accreditation applies to companies that have at least 50% of their staff with a recognised trade or relevant NZQA qualification or are currently training. To gain the Master Seal, applicants must comply with the Furniture Master Seal Code of Practice. The Master Seal is focused on quality through training - companies that have well trained staff are more likely to produce good quality furniture. When buying furniture with the Master Seal you can have confidence you're buying furniture, made in New Zealand by formally trained industry people who are trained to NZQA standards. Companies with this Seal guarantee that their employees are trained to these standards.
